three and half years in college..................

This is about my life in BE..........Some people call it Retrospecting
........
Ive tried to be witty in this blog, which was difficult considering the college i am studying in..............

I got about 87% in PCM in XIIth std........ which is by any standards is pretty less...... so that means i culdnt get into all those colleges with big names like DJ sanghvi, Sardar patel.... so i applied for AC patil in khoparkahirne, well it culd not be called an ideal coll becoz it had no facilities, was reaaaallly far away........ man i used to travel 1:30 hrs in bus changing two buses......and i used to do that everyday and used to come home like about at 8:00 pm.... that was some hectic life..... i made some frends , i remember a few names Amol, rudraksh....

Then after a month there was an ad in the newpaper about 60 additional seats in a coll acronymed KJSIEIT (KJ somaiay coll of engg and intfo technology). i jumped at the opportunity and got into that coll..... i got the admission... :D....... Now i travel half the distance than i used to , when i was in AC patil...... well this wasnt an ideal coll too , but the only plus point is that it was not that far away from my place.........

Sem 1:
Well i knew life in engineering culd be difficult and the profs here werent actually making it easy by scaring us to death by tellin how fatal mechanics culd be......... "Once u get a KT u are doomed" thats wat they used to tell us........ and guess wat i did get a KT in mechanics.........
There were 2 div A & B ..... I didnt know ne1 from A div till 3rd sem......and i was in B.
I made lots of frends here.... i was surprised at the number of gujarati people in this college... but still life in BE was in its nacent stage and had just started.......... well i got about 49% in sem 1 with 1 KT that too mech............. and did i mention the usual stuff like assignments, practs sittin all the lectures n stuff....

Sem 2:
Its after Sem 1 i understood the concept of KT....................
With 1 KT I was allowed to go to sem 2................. This is where i came to know most of the people in KJSIEIT.......... My gujarati group dipen, sagar abhishek, bhavesh, jugal........
and others like chinmay, and the gang of girls , shweta, trupti, aditi, medha,archana........
Ok ill start with my group..... dipen always teasing away people with his comments often vulgor....... abhishek named the "contri guy" (well this name came later on in 6th sem) but always gets nice marks ,a scholar and has good amount of knowlege about various things.... sagar got dropped after 2nd yr due to mech Kt (told ya mech is a devil in disguise)......
bhavesh ... well though i have mentioned him in my gujarati group and he is a gujarati, but strangely he talks in marathi in his home maybe the village effect because he lives in bhandup which we call a village.........
and jugal the PJ master a very good frend though got dropped after 3rd yr :(.......
chinmay... a scholar and topper has good knowlege about stuff except computers .....
and now the gang of girls ..... shweta , trupti, aditi , medha ,archana and the others..... always upto something and chatting away to glory........ god know how can they talk so much............ Here i attended many tech fests tho didnt win in any of em...... Here i cleared Mech Kt with barely passing marks (40) .... Yipppppeeeeee.

Sem 3:
With a blink of an eye Sem 3 came....... and with it the inflow of diploma guys (people entering into 2nd yr directly thru diploma)..... Well as usual most of em were gujaratis... i wondered whether this college culd handle ne more gujaratis .. (hehe i m a gujarati myself)....
I met many interesting people dhawal sanghvi, bhavin and others.......
sanghvi the story man thats wat we call him.... always has a story to tell, with his own brand of mirch masala ofcourse.... and bhavin yup has a gf and ull always find him talkin to her......
And ya the usual thing all the assignments and journals were a regular part of coll.... no one used to do it seriously though......

Sem 4:
Neways i got 68% in sem 3...... was shocked at it but it was in sem 3 that i got tagged as scholar though i dont know why...... it was time for reshuffling of classes ..... every time i get to know people better , the college management reshuffles the class (damn those losers).... now in A div... and that too roll no. 1 ....... here i met new kind of people.....amongst them were atri and siddesh...... I didnt know much about them untill sem 5.........
Time was running really fast and soon sem 4 exams were there...... prepared and got 68 again......

Sem 5:
Now it was time for me to shift my home from santacruz to tardeo.... now i used to travel by train..... my companions Atri n siddesh..... we talked about many things , teasing each other with various girls..... here i came to know both of em.... Atri was usefull in getting lectures cancelled and for notes... and siddesh (now has a gf) a pure techie guy used to explain me various concepts........ As the sem passed we met new breed of teachers , most comic of em all Ganesh.... i wonder whether he ever knew what ever he was teaching... atleast it was hard for me to understand with all that noise we were making....... I got 61% here..

Sem 6:
Well this sem was like ne other sem for me accept for the results ofcourse (ull see wat i mean by that). The sem passed with it our masti increased...
I attended my colls tech fest went dud as usual......... Now the exams came....... every paper went good..... but one went more than good , the subject AWP (hail vidylankar notes)....... and the results 70.5% and with AWP = 91 .............

Sem 7:
This is the sem where we had most fun with teachers. Here i met a new breed of teacher... He was only 1 named Vijay kamble..... The new rule was about to be made instead of weekly tests there were midterms....... And this prof had an idea of takin tests . well and we got it cancelled... This fueled a small war like situation ... At one side all the students of A div and at the other it was Kamble and was fast recruiting many other professors too.....
This is my fourth year and with it my proj in siemens with my group members Atri, Dhawal Metha , Me and Mugdha Karande.... All are very good frends of mine..... Plus we had to chose an elective subject..... I chose DCE and many of my frends did that too.... So again class was reshuffled , only this time for more proper reasons.... and i was back with my old mates from sem 1......

This was a sem where we had a particular image with the professors... (the most mischievious class image, as said by shweta) which was again to be ruined be reshuffling in sem 8.....
Vivas came with that Kambles viva , looks like he handpicked the devil who took our vivas.... just to make us suffer.... :(
And guess wat it was this prof who checked my paper and gave me 91 in AWP .
Yea but the main part i got a job in infosys.........

Sem 8:
Well i m in sem 8 now .... class reshuffled (yawn.......) lucky we dont have kamble... B div has him (god bless those poor souls) .......

This is my last sem in coll...... god knows wat the future holds for me.... maybe an MS..... Well i have high aspirations for myself and have set high standards.... which sometimes i wonder whether they are achievable...... but hey u shuld be positive.....
So now just 4 months to go and ive decided that these four months shuld be the best ive had in enggg.........

Are riots justified??

I have read about the recent riots (in maharashtra) which prompted me to ask this question - Are riots really justified? ...............
Humanity can be devastating in a number of ways and one of the cruelest forms are riots.......
Do you believe that just by damaging property or by killing people the problems are going to be solved? My answer is NO....... The recent riots are about a defacing of a statue of a prominent leader of the India where many of his supporters got together to protest . Its sometimes sad that these things do happen. Can't we solve this in a more decent fashion . Can't we just only give punishment to the person who is involved in this.
The truth is we lack proper law and order. Do these things happen in US and the UK? The reason is they have a stable law and order system, which we seriously lack.
A better example is the Godhra case, the Muslims burnt a train because of some issue (frankly i don't know the entire case) and the riots between HIndu and Muslims in Gujarat started.... Seriously cant we just give punishment to whoever is responsible for the crime.
Trust me guys i am sure u must've seen the pictures of the godhra case and its gruesome. I knew Humanity has its dark side , but that was just awful ........
So until and unless we have a strong law for riots , human emotions will not be controlled and these kind of situations will always take place...........

PS : I have taken the most liberal side in this post , those who have been hurt by this post please forgive me and i may have made some grammatical mistakes , sorry for my English :D.......

Return of the prince.........

This post is about a long awaited return of one of the greatest batsmen and captain India has ever seen........ Yes its the prince of Kolkata .... Sourav Ganguly....... And my heartiest congratulations to him for doing that......
Its been almost one year since he was dropped from the team , now he has been brought back to shoulder a struggling India team..... yes the latest 20-20 win would have boosted morale of the team , but there is no denying the series of failures in the challenger trophy and in South Africa......
It was a similar situation where Nawab of pataudi was dropped from the team and was brought back to shoulder a struggling indian side back then...Now its dada's turn .... If he is capable of bringing the team back to their feet then he will surely be go down in history books with glory and pride.........
I sometimes wonder why he the team management didn't consider him for this long .... was it because of some childish issue with the coach...... come on Mr. Chappel get over with it... finally its a win that matters and he is not going to make India win by fighting over some petty issue...........
Rahul Dravid is the current captain and i am a great fan of his.... but personally i like Dravid as more of a player than a captain .... The main strength of Ganguly is he can keep team together even in crisis..... This is what Rahul Dravid lacks.......
I believe he (Ganguly) paved the way of new and better Indian team during his captaincy days... which is now slowly degrading in his absence.......
His statistics will give you strong message that whatever has happened to him is purely injustice - 22 hundred close to 15000 ODI runs is no kiddish thing ..... So its great to have him back.......
But will he show the India team the right way...... Will he be able to make India see the dawn of a win again..... that only time will tell ....... Meanwhile all we can do is just have hope in the team and cheer for India.......

Hold on to your horses folks.. Its time for the Return of the prince ............
